Continuing a tradition dating back to 1984, Fayette Rotarians have elected Dr. Jessica Grasdorf Quint, a local dentist, as Fayette’s Business Leader of the Year.
The presentation came at the club’s regular luncheon meeting Wednesday.
Members took nominations over a several week period and then selected Quint from a field of five finalists.
Known for her civic, school and church involvement, Quint returned to Fayette in 2007 when she took over the dental practice of Dr. John Byland who retired.
When her father was on the CMU faculty, Quint graduated from Fayette High School and then CMU, receiving her degree with honors in 1997.
While at Central she was active in many academic and extra-curricular pursuits. Last year she was named CMU’s Outstanding Young Alumni for 2009.
In 2002, she earned her dentistry degree from the University of Missouri in Kansas City and for the next five years worked for Pro Dental in Columbia where she became president of the Columbia Dental Society.
Among her community involvements here are: Rotary (she is president-elect), Chamber of Commerce, Community Betterment, Girl Scouts, P.E.O., Mammas for Fayette, and the board of Equal Opportunity, among others.
She also is active at Linn Memorial United Methodist Church.
Quint has expanded and enhanced the dental services offered by her office and has spearheaded the “Give Kids a Smile” program in Howard County.
She and her husband, William, and their three children live at 400 N. Church.
